Thomas Sowell writing for Jewish World Review gives a stark picture of our choices this election. Sowell
One of these candidates will determine what we are going to do to stop Iran from going nuclear—
Oviously an extremely dangerous development. One which Sowell says is like sailing down the Niagra River without realizing that once you go off the falls, you can’t come back up again. Iran with nuclear weapons he says, is Bin Laden with nuclear weapons.
Our one window of opportunity to prevent this will occur within the term of whoever becomes President of the United States next January. At a time like this, we do not have the luxury of waiting for our ideal candidate or of indulging our emotions by voting for some third party candidate to show our displeasure— at the cost of putting someone in the White House who is not up to the job. … Senator McCain has not spent decades aiding and abetting people who hate America. On the contrary, he has paid a huge price for resisting our enemies, even when they held him prisoner and tortured him. The choice between him and Barack Obama should be a no-brainer.
At some point, either Iran will develop nuclear weapons or the United States or some other nation will have to destroy the nuclear materials. This will be issue number one for the new President in January.
