The New York Times refuses to print John McCain’s answer to Barack Obama’s opinion piece which they had no trouble publishing earlier. As amazing as it sounds, the Times feels justified in printing the opinion of one of the presidential candidates, and yet refuse his opponent. There was a time when conservatives pointed out MSM bias, and most people were not convinced. This week must surely have put and end to that sentiment, with the three anchors of network news following Barack around Europe and the NYT refusing to print McCain’s answer.

In January 2007, when General David Petraeus took command in Iraq, he called the situation “hard” but not “hopeless.” Today, 18 months later, violence has fallen by up to 80% to the lowest levels in four years, and Sunni and Shiite terrorists are reeling from a string of defeats. The situation now is full of hope, but considerable hard work remains to consolidate our fragile gains.
