WASHINGTON – U.S. District Judge Richard J. Leon ordered the release of five Algerians held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The judge said the government’s evidence linking the five Algerians to al-Qaida was not credible because it came from a single, unidentified source. Therefore, he said, the five could not be held indefinitely as enemy combatants, and should be released immediately.
There are an additional 200 cases pending. While the 5 Algerians will be accepted by the Bosnian government, the remainder of the detainees in Guantanamo Bay have not been accepted by any other government because…. they are very bad guys. Therefore, when some genius judge releases them, they will walk free in the United States. Probably in Kansas… if in fact, all the detainees are relocated to Leavenworth. Lucky Kansas. Hide your kids.
