In a break with tradition (but not with her intensely partisan outlook) Pelosi has decided to pack the intelligence committee with Democrats. The intelligence committees have historically been half one party and half the other, or the party in power has had one extra member. The Senate Intelligence Committee will include 8 Democrats and 7 Republicans next year.
Pelosi, however has changed the House Intelligence Committee to 13 Democrats and 8 Republicans. This after complaining that the Bush Administration politicized the Intelligence Community. The 9-11 Commission had opined that the Intelligence Committees not be packed this way, and Pelosi ran claiming that they were going to adopt the 9-11 Commission recommendations. Of course that is when she was running for office.
